So so tired!!! Yesterday, I went out for the whole day. Actually, I only wanted to go to the city to shop. Well, I went with chew ling and SY to smith streets. I wanted to go there cause Vivien (this girl on the 8th floor) told me that there is a sale there for adidas products. Hee. We told quite a while to look for the place cause it is in those small small streets. Anyway, I bought an Adidas hoodie. It is nice and warm. Haha. And it is very cheap too!! well, if you are wondering is it possible for me to buy clothes in Melbourne. It IS! I bought junior size. Hahaha. =P
I also bought a pair of shoes that can cover my toes. As the wind here is super cold and my poor feet always get all the cold. *boo hoo hoo*
It is a converse brand, and it is super cheap too.

Do you know why? Haha. Cause the whole of smith street is a factory outlet. So all the products are damm cheap. Chew ling bought 2 tops from the nike shop. SY didn't get anything cause she is controlling herself not to spend so much. Haha. Sigh, all I can say is wrong timing la, girl! Hee.

Anyway, after shopping we went back to the city itself to meet Fox and the rest of the guys. There was Fox, Braine, Ken, Jiang, Nathan, Andrew and birthday boy, Sulim! 7 guys and 3 girls. Haha. We went to the lounge to look for them, and then already had 3 jugs of beer! When we arrived, they ordered another 3 more jugs, Jiang and Fox was forcing me to drink. *faints* Jiang was saying, don't worry. If you drank, there is 7 guys here to protect you. Haha. I think they are more dangerous can. Whahahahaha. No la, just joking. Anyway, I still didn't drink cause I told Jiang that the beer smell is so stinky! And it really is! Hee.

The actually plan was to meet up with the guys and then have dinner then go back home. However, we realize that due to the commonwealth games, there is this percussions ensemble. So we all decided to go for it, since all of us didn't manage to get any tickets for the commonwealth games. When we are walking towards the venue, there is a lot of people already. OMG!! Thousands of them! It is really a lot! But we still manage to get the good seats. Four rows from the front! Cause, Sulim's friends went there to reserve the seats for us at 6 something. Anyway, the concert started at around eight plus and ended at twelve something!! In the end, we had MacDonald for dinner at twelve plus. Moreover, we had to order take away, otherwise we might miss the last train back to Clayton. All of us ate on the trains. Everyone was so hungry! Haha. We all finish our meals very quickly. Cause we are really famished and cold!!

When we reached Clayton, we didn't have any bus back home. So we called the cabs but they ask us to wait for 15minutes, moreover, it is not confirm that the cabs we take all of us. So, we waited for 6minutes and we all decided to walk back to the halls. Cause yesterday night was freezing cold. About 11 degrees!! Thanks wor. Haha. I only had a skimpy jacket which can't give me warm or block the wind. Anyway, we took about 45minutes to walk back to the halls. It is not slow walk, it is FAST walk. It would be very dangerous to walk back if you are girl, but with so many guys beside us! No problems!! Haha. Anyway, the guys are always looking out for us. So it is very safe. Haha. Especially, when there was a lot of people exiting from the concert, they were like, okie, let’s do a head count! One, two, three! Three girls! Haha.

Anyway, by the time I bath and get back to my room, it was already 1 plus going to 2. I couldn't sleep after all those exercises. Haha. So, I did my tutorials for the next day. And I slept at around 3 plus and woke up at 8 to prepare to go for my 9am class. However, I didn't go in the end. Cause I can't get off my bed. Haha. SY is supposed to wake me up. But, she can't wake up too. haha. Nonetheless, I still made a point to open up eyes at 8 okie! Haha.

Alrights, go to go for the international student supper tonight. Cya!

Step right into my office with details of the toga party held on Wednesday, 15th of March!

It was actually kind of a last minute thingy. As, I message SiYun at 4 something telling her that I decided not to go for the toga party. I guess she didn't check her phone, because she called me at around 6 plus trying to persuade me to go. And, when she called Jenn was shouting at the back asking me not to go. haha. Anyway, I still went for the party in the end. Well, experience hall life mah. Hee. I wore SiYun’s extra bedsheets. We didn't know how to tie our toga up, so I went to knock Katja’s door. She helped us do up our toga and it is super nice. Haha. Actually, I was rather reluctant to wear SiYun's colored bed sheets cause I know that people would be all dress in white. Bed sheets here are all white!

I took the ticket for non-drinker and the rest of the guys took the tickets for drinkers. Seriously, people here really drink beer as if as they were drinking plain water. They paid $7 and they get like free flow of alcohols. The party started at 8pm, and we went down at around 8.30pm. At around 10 plus, they closed the bar counter as they ran out of beer!! Haha. Super dieow. I think they rush down to don't where and got more beers and re-open the counter at 11 plus. Anyway, I drank a lot of coke that night cause it was free flow too. hee. I drank a little of SY's beer and it taste ARGH...
Well, I went down to the dance floor to dance a little, and when I wanted to leave to go back to my room... Arja blocked my way; he refused to let me go back! Dance more, he said. Nevertheless, people like SY, Alia, Rion chipped in the fun too. *faints* And, I have to come up with a lot of excuses, hee, like I want to take another drink, eat some chips, go toilet!! Hehe. By the way, it was the last excuse that manages to let them "release" me. =P

After my "release", I went up to look for ling first, cause she gave me so many missed call on my mobile. She was having her dinner in the kitchen, so I sat down and chatted with her for a while in my toga. I know a lot of people went down for the party, so I happily assume that there is no one in their room at that time. So I wasn't shy to just sit down there with only a toga. And then, I think Ken heard my voice in his room, and he walked into the kitchen to chat with us. On the side note, Ken is staying directly above me, and he is from HK, so his Chinese isn't very accurate. He ask me a question in Chinese, and I gave me a super blur face, cause I don't understand. So, he turned to Ling and asked her in Cantonese how to speak THAT word. Haha. And, I so happen to know THAT word in Cantonese as Ling always use THAT word to call me. Hee.

If you think that the party ends there, you would be so wrong. Hee. Cause, after I left Ling's floor, I went to bath and, SY and Alia came knocking on my door just after I finish taking my bath. We continued talking for a while and then Monque was asking us how to wear the toga. Haha. Anyway, they went downstairs for another round, I didn't follow cause I have to finish my law tutes first. After the party, Alia came and knock on my door and asked if she could study in my room. I let her in, but we didn't study in the end, we ended up gossiping. Haha. =P
So, in the end, I didn't finish my tute and I slept really late, like 2 plus. And, I have to wake up at 8 cause I have a lecture at 9 the next morning. I am so gratefully to Kristy for the law discussion earlier that day. Otherwise, I would be totally dead in the tute the next day since my tutor, Andrew, always call me up in class.

Here, are the pictures we took at the toga party. It is quite similar to the ones I posted on friendster though.

Another death. Someone committed suicide somewhere last week. I can't really remember the exact date but he was a friend of Fox and Andrew. He killed himself a day before going back to Japan. We all didn't know how he died, cause the police and the MRS office kept everything slient. He killed himself due to culture shock and the stress level. He is from a very popular university in Japan and was here to do an exchange program for a year. And, he has only been here for less than a month. Sigh, I think this is a super sad case. I'm so grateful that I made super nice friends here, and have the support of my family. I think I am really lucky to have a lot of friends around me here. People like Christine, Pao pao, Cindy, Elle, Ling, Pauline, SY, Fumie, Alia, Alan, JW, Raimie, Brian and etc. haha. Too many le. All in all, people in my floor and hall are super happening and of course nice. Haha. Last but not least, the super fun-loving RA, Katja, who shared her mummy's home-made carrot cake with the whole of 9th floor. It was delicious, I had 3 servings. Hee =P

*I am really glad I stayed in the halls. Cause, I don't think I would ever forget this wonderful experience I gained here. And, of course, the different friends I made here, sharing our own culture, language and whatnots* hee.

Anyway, when I first came here, I was feeling a little inferior, cause people here all knows at least three languages and above!! Luckily I have a Japanese, otherwise I need to start digging a hole to hide already. Haha. Now, I want to learn Cantonese from either Ling, Fox or JW. Cause, Fox told me that he was surprise that I didn't understand Cantonese as all the other Singaporeans he met, all knew Cantonese. Don't be too surprise if I go back to Singapore speaking Cantonese. Hee. And, I also want to learn some Malay from Alan or Alia. Learn a bit of French and Spanish from Briane. Hee. Am I been too greedy here? =P

I heard rather shocking news this afternoon over lunch. Two girls were robbed at the bus loop at bus 703 stand on the 10 of March. The robbers had knifes! What I picture in my mind was two guys holding knifes and robbing the girls. However, I was stun to hear that it was actually two girls robbing the other two girls. Moreover, it is with weapons. Fox, (guy staying on the 10th floor), witness the whole incident and told us about it. We were all shocked because the robbery did not happen in the night but in broad daylight!! The girls who were robbed are Japanese and they were robbed the day before they are going to return to Japan. Thus, that was like their last impression of Australia.

Anyway, Chew Ling was saying that it would be safer to get a guy to travel around with girls. Haha. Well, we all know that. Besides, when we always travel with guys, girls always have the special privilege. Hee. Cause, the guys would always help us find seats in the tram, train and bus. So that’s good. Hee =P Moreover, if you are buying heavy stuffs, they would automatically offer to help me carry. Haha.

I'm still deciding if I should go to the Nott on Thursday. Cause, Wednesday is the Toga party and they invited a DJ here too. (Not that it is new or anything, they always invite DJs when there is a party) Our dress code is a Toga, obviously. Haha. A Toga is actually wearing your own bedsheets over you. Katja was advising me to wear something below my toga cause last year, some of the guys were drank and they went to pull off some people's toga. Haha. And, she was also telling us whose toga NOT to pull off, as they would definitely wear NOTHING beneath. Well, if you are curious about a man's private area, then you may pull theirs off. Haha.
Anyway, for friends in Singapore, Nott is something like a pub. Most of the residents would walk to the Nott for a drink on Thursday. For people on budget, they would drink here first, and then walk to the pub. Haha. Well, as for me, I'm not going to drink. I just want to take a look, to see the difference between here and back in Singapore. Hee.

Two blog entires in a day. Haha. Well, I really feel like blogging this. The department of business law and taxation is offering the opportunity for students to study Company Law and Taxation Law at the Monash Centre in Prato, Italy!!! OMG! Now, I really feel sad. How I wish I have not take these two units yet. I think it is really a rare opportunity to study there for 3 weeks. This program is in a three week intensive mode. Still, imagine how wonderful can your study can when you experiencing the many wonderful aspects of Italian culture in an historical and beautiful Tuscan city close to Florence. OMG!! I really want to go there! I really really want to go there. I envious the other students in my tute who are going there. *sads*

My Japanese tutor is a Caucasian!! OMG, I got a shocked when I first stepped into the tutorial class. Haha. So weird. Okay, maybe it is just me, but it so interesting to hear them speak Asian words. Haha. I must say, she knows her stuffs.

Anyway, when I went to have this free BBQ, don't know when, haha, we played an ice-breaker. We are supposed to roam around and ask other different people questions. The main purpose is to let all the different people mingle around. And, there was this Australian couple who knows how to speak MANDARIN! The wife, Emily, is doing her master in Monash. Her conversation skills are not very good yet, but she still knows understands. The husband, Brett, speaks better than Emily. Haha. So, me and chew ling started to test him by talking to him in Chinese. Haha. And, he handles it well! However, poor Braine, who don't know Chinese was filled with question marks in the air. Haa. And, Emily has to translate it into English for him. Haha. Shame on him. Haha. Need an "ang mo" to tell him what we are talking about. Hahaha. Okay la, it is not his fault that he doesn't know Chinese. As his first language is French and second language is English, according to him, his French is better than English. By the way, Braine's ancestor is from China, but they migrated to Moriches. (okie, I don't know how to spell his country) Thus, the later generation soon forgot how to speak Chinese. How sad. Haha.

Been in Melbourne for about two weeks now, meaning I have stayed in the hostel for about two weeks too. And, let me tell you, I think I have never seen so many naked men in my life before. Haha. Okie, they are not totally naked, they either wore boxes or just wrap the lower part of the body with a towel. For my floor, I think there are more guys to girls. Hmmm, I think I have seen my neighbor topless more often than the other guys. Haha. The first time I saw a naked guy in front of me, was him lor! OMG!! This morning Eddie wore his boxes to the toilet. And when I want to open the door, he pushed open it. He almost smacked my face into it. Haha. Still, he practice his gentleman gesture, he open the door for me to let me go out first.

According to my friend, there is this good looking guy (JW) who lives as the same floor as me. I haven't seen him topless around yet. Haha. His body shape should be quite good bah. I'm guessing cause when I saw him in my sleeveless and rather body hugging top, mmm... Not bad la. Haha.
As we are living in the same floor, we actually know each other la. And, my friend only knows me in the whole of Howitt. So I was like telling her to go up to him and say hi la. Cause, I think he is quite nice and gentleman too. As every time I bump into him, we would smile and say hi. Then the other time, when we went out for floor outing, he gave his seat to me. So should be quite nice one right. Haha. So I encourage her to get to know him. Hee. I made a bet with her, to ask her go knock on his door and ask for his number. Haha.

In the end, she didn't knock on his door and we ended up chatting at the corridor with Alan. THEN, JW came out of his room, and he purposely too the long way to walk past us. Haha. He said he is going to the gym. Then, then, my friend said hi to him. But, he didn't hear or something la, he ignored her and looked into my room and smile.... So dieow right. Haha. Then, she keeps saying he is anti-social. Haha. Cause yesterday night, we had pasta night and he left after he finish his dinner. He didn't sit through the whole event. Anti-social! Haha. Actually, we left half way too. hee.

Anyway, I think he thinks that I'm a Malaysian too. Cause there was this once, he was cooking fried rice and he asking me if I wanted any in CANTONESE. Haha. I rejected his offer cause I have already eaten my dinner cooked by Alan. Heh. Not that I understood Cantonese or what. But, the Cantonese of fried rice is quite similar to Chinese. Haha.

I think I'm falling sick. When to the school doctor this afternoon at about 12.30pm. and then the person says I have to wait for about an hour for the door to see me. Cause there was a lot of people and she says I can't come back later as the medical students would be in. so dieow. In the end, I made an appointment on Mon. I think maybe by Mon, I could be feeling well already. Actually, I'm only having a little cough and flu. BUT, there was this email sent to all students at Clayton as a lecturer died due to Legionnaire's Disease.

*Symptoms of the Disease
Early symptoms are similar to influenza and include headache, fever, chills, muscle aches and pains and generally a dry cough followed by shortness of breath. Other systems in the body can sometimes be affected, resulting in diarrhoea, mental confusion and kidney failure. From the time of infection with legionella bacteria, it takes between 2 and 10 days for symptoms to appear. In most cases, symptoms begin after 5-6 days. The infection can be treated with antibiotics. However, severe cases can result in death.

I was a little scared after reading the email. Haha. Cause the lecturer is based in Menezies Building. And, there was where I was the past few days. Now, I have been drinking tons of water! Hee.
